Unearthed


Dulwich Picture Gallery’s first major photography exhibition, Unearthed, traces the rich history of the medium through depictions of plants and botany. James Hunter and Stephen Coates designed the catalogue featuring over 100 works dating from the 1840s to contemporary work from leading international artists.

In response to texts on photographic and printing processes, they interspersed short page inserts that detail how the works were created. Focus pages on key artists used gatefolds, inserts on different paper stocks and metallic inks to showcase their work.
